Gabrielle E. “Gabi” Mosely is the main character of the NBC crime drama series Found. As a recovery specialist, she works with a group of private investigators dedicated to finding missing people often overlooked by the police. She is portrayed by Shanola Hampton.

Background[]

Gabi is a former kidnapping victim who founded and manages a firm specializing in finding people who have been abducted. She secretly relies on the insights of her abductor, Sir, to get into the minds of kidnappers and understand their patterns and Gabi kidnapped him seven months ago. She was Sir's prisoner for one year and eight days before she escaped with Lacey.

As the head of Mosely & Associates – "M & A" – Gabi is driven by a personal commitment to help those whose disappearances have gone unnoticed or underreported, especially people of color. Her team uses unconventional and often morally complex methods to ensure they bring people home.

Gabi's personal experience with extreme and prolonged trauma gives her a unique understanding of her clients’ pain and fear, She is resilient, stubborn, strong-willed, unwavering and deeply dedicated in her commitment to be a voice for those who are marginalized or overlooked. Gabi is compassionate, empathetic and also exhibits a fiercely protective side when it comes to both her team and to those whom she advocates. She refuses to let her own history define her by conventional descriptions. However, her PTSD often clouds her decisions, causing her to make poor and often dangerous decisions. For the most part, she is able to accept the consequences for her actions.

Hugh Evans, referred to as “Sir" at his insistance, is the chilling sociopath behind Gabi and Lacey’s shared trauma. He is a delusional narcissisti - and possibly has Borderline Personality Disorder. His capture and control over the two women form the dark foundation of both their lives, shaping their perspectives and fueling Gabi’s determination to rescue others. While Sir’s motives still remain partly obscured, his twisted control and manipulation have left lasting, deep psychological scars on both women.

  • The worse part if Sir escapes and gets caught that he will implicate as her kidnappers and she will go to jail. Her friends aka co-workers will not join her in her fate because they are unaware about Gabi kidnapping Sir. If Gabi goes to jail, her company will be shut down.
  • Later episodes will show why Gabi kidnapped Sir and why they were unlikely partnership. The main reason why Gabi never turned him into the police.
